The fireworks display at the Cowra Show on Saturday was impressive and received positive reviews on social media.

The Cowra Spring Show was back last Friday and Saturday, and after storms cleared on Friday afternoon, was a great and memorable show.

A spectacular fireworks display lasting more than 10 minutes and featuring fireworks large enough to fill the sky was a fitting way to end the two days of action.

The show was full of fun and exciting family events such as, markets, lawn mower races, sports shearing, wood chopping, horse events, dog jumping, animal nursery and the sideshow alley.

Crews from the Cowra Fire and Rescue brigade even put on a demonstration kitchen fire to show how they can startand what they do to put a fire out.

There was an exciting new area called ‘The Gully’ where events like the Demolition Derby, Young Farmers Challenge and Southern Cattledog Championships were held.

The Club Cowra stage provided great music entertainment

for the crowds alongside the Cowra Magpies bar, while the nearby hay maze gave the kids something to do while their parents had a rest in front of the live music.

One of the many highlights of the show was lamb competition, with over 180 entered into the Prime Lamb category.

Ross Graham took out the ‘Champion Pen of 3 Lambs’ and the ‘Overall Champion Lamb’.

The team representing Bryants Hay took out the Young Farmer Challenge and will represent Cowa in the NSW finals at the Royal Easter Show next year.

The school displays in the pavillion were so good the Cowra Show Society now plans on including the small village schools in Cowra Shire next year.
