Local NDIS provider and support service Ability Network has taken over the Community Rest Centre café at Cowra’s Squire Park.
The café is being managed by Danielle Blows, who officially started on Monday 9th January.
Ability Network Manager Annie Crasti said the organisation decided to take on the café’s licence to allow its clients to gain hospitality experience.
“As part of our growth in social enterprising, and in providing more opportunities to our participants, it was decided to branch out and take on this new endeavour with the continuous support of our Board. For our participants who have shown an interest in hospitality – this will be an opportunity for them to learn firsthand the skill of being involved in a Café and given industry experience as they work towards achieving their goals,” she said.
“Danielle comes to us with enormous experience in hospitality, and is known for her beautiful baking and coffee making skills.”
The cafe is open from 9am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12pm Saturdays, serving light meals, beverages and savouries. The centre also features clean amenities and disability access.
