Students and parents at Gooloogong Public School will soon have an extra hand with a new Before and After School Care (BASC) service to open onsite.

The program will provide the community with out of school hour’s care and is due to commence in time for the upcoming Christmas school holiday with their vacation care program.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said she was pleased that the Gooloogong community will now have access to a BASC service.

“I’m very proud of this initiative because it really supports working families – it will allow more students to have safe, fun environments before and after school and during vacation periods, and for their parents to have the flexibility to participate in the workforce,” Ms Cooke said. The new OSHC program will operate out of the school hall and will be providing before school, after school, school development days and vacation care services.

Gooloogong Public School Principal Nick Doyle said the service is much-needed in the village and will have a positive impact on all key stakeholders. “The establishment of a before and after school care and vacation care service at Gooloogong Public School is a real win for all families in and around Gooloogong,” Mr Doyle said.
