IMAGE: Construction works of the Billimari Pipeline at Ripleys Road late last month. The project is expected to be completed by July.

Construction of the pipeline from Billimari to Cowra is progressing well as it heads east towards Billimari from Jumbuck Lane, along Merriganowry Road. Local contractor, Thompson’s Irrifab, completed pipe installation along Rileys Road from Tuesday 21 February to Tuesday 28 February.

During this time, Rileys Road was closed to all traffic except residents, but has since reopened.

From there, the pipeline will turn right towards Cowra along North Logan Road. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane alongside the worksite and controlled with traffic lights.

There may be short delays.

Cowra Council apologised for any inconenience this may cause in a statement and look forward to your co-operation and understanding as work progresses. Works are anticipated to continue until July 2023 and form part of the Cowra Drought Water Security Project which will provide Cowra with an alternative water supply source in the event of a severe drought.

This Project has been funded via the NSW Government’s Safe and Secure Program.

For further enquiries regarding the Project, please contact Council’s Infrastructure and Operations Department on 6340 2070.
