To improve accessibility and safety, mobility parking spots in the Cowra Shire now have bright blue bollards erected.
Ruth Fagan, the mayor of Cowra Shire, and Cr. Nikki Kiss, the chair of the Cowra Access Advisory Committee, are happy to support this crucial project.
“These blue bollards not only serve as a practical safety feature but also symbolise our commitment to making Cowra an inclusive and welcoming place for all. The Cowra Access Advisory Committee has played an integral role in advocating for such improvements, championing the rights of our residents, and contributing to the town’s overall liveability,” said Cr Kiss.
The bollards next to the mobility parking places, according to Cowra Shire Mayor Ruth Fagan, are there to prevent cars from parking too close.
Cr Kiss, Chair of the Access Committee, emphasised the importance of these bollards for the entire community.
“We believe that everyone in Cowra, regardless of their abilities, should be able to access our community spaces without barriers.”
These vivid blue bollards have been put in many locations throughout the shire, including the Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre and Bunnings, to enhance the safe accessibility for both locals and visitors.
