Career Transition Assistance Courses Coming To Cowra

Career Transition Assistance (CTA) courses are coming to Cowra this September and October.

Sureway Employment & Training, which deliver Workforce Australia’s Career Transition Assistance (CTA) program across Central West, will deliver the upcoming courses in Cowra.

CTA is an Australian Government initiative to assist mature age job seekers, aged 45 years and over, to build skills and confidence to become more competitive in their local labour market. The course is voluntary and runs for six weeks.

**Delivered in a small group session, the CTA program covers: **

  • Using computers

  • The internet and online applications

  • Emails (sending/receiving, attaching, CCs)

  • Using Word and Excel

  • Using MyGov

  • Exploring your transferable skills

  • Creating your own resume and cover letter

  • Improving and tailoring resumes

  • How to beat online filters/screeners

  • Applying for jobs online

  • Preparing for a modern job interview

Participants will also meet local employers; and have other guest speakers present topics such as No Interest Loans, IT Security, Life Skills Coordinator, Cultural Awareness, and further study options.

**The courses will be held at Verto Cowra on the following dates from 9:30am - 4:15pm: **

  • Thu 12 & Fri 13 September

  • Thu 19 & Fri 20 September

  • Thu 26 & Fri 27 September

  • Thu 3 & Fri 4 October

  • Thu 10 & Fri 11 October

  • Thu 17 & Fri 18 October
