After a break of 6 years due to Covid and its flow on effects, Cowra’s favourite Choir, Chor Farmer will be making their long-anticipated return to Cowra this month.

The renowned Japanese Choir, Chor-Farmer, a 27 member male choir made up of students and graduates from the Tokyo University of Agriculture will be making their 22nd visit to Cowra.

Prior to the Covid interruption, the Choir, led by Conductor Hiroshi Masumoto, has visited Cowra every two years since 1976.

They will perform only two concerts in Australia, with a performance in Adelaide, followed by a concert at the Cowra Civic Centre on Saturday Afternoon, 12th October at 2.00pm

All proceeds from the Cowra concert will go to the Cowra Seikei Student Exchange Programme which this year is celebrating its 54th year of continuous 12-month exchange with Seikei High School in Tokyo.

In addition to the concert proceeds, members of Chor-Farmer have over the years donated many thousands of dollars to the Chor-Farmer Trust Fund, which is used to support the Seikei Exchange program, and the choral sections of the Cowra Eisteddfod.

The Choir will arrive in Cowra on Thursday evening 10th October and depart on Sunday morning 13th October, and will be billeted with Cowra host families.

Tickets $20 Adult and $10 Concession are on sale now at the Cowra Civic Centre Box Office or on line at www.cowraciviccentre.com
