Cowra Tourism Corporation is excited to announce that the Cowra Christmas Festival is back for 2022!

Returning once again to the Main Street of Cowra on Friday 2nd December from 6pm - 9pm, the Cowra Christmas Festival is an opportunity to celebrate community spirit leading into the festive season and share a great night out with friends and family.

The main street of Cowra will be closed to traffic and will be transformed into a market city with stalls selling everything from local products, handicrafts, clothing and much more.

Browse the variety of stalls to the tunes of Christmas Carols before grabbing yourself a bite to eat from a dedicated ‘Eat Street’.

There will be a Christmas Wonderland for the children, providing free activities and photo opportunities with Santa Claus and plenty of entertainment including singing and dance performances, as well as an appearance by Santa Claus himself.

Local retailers will also extend their trading hours for a spot of late night shopping giving you the chance to do all of your Christmas shopping in one night. Our special guest MC’s for the night will be radio presenter Anthony Maroon and rugby league legend Paul Gallen.

Enjoy the night’s entertainment with performances by Josie Laver and a headline act featuring the daughter of Australian music legend Jimmy Barnes, Mahalia Barnes, and her band The Soul Mates.

Mahalia Barnes

Mahalia Barnes has been in and around music her entire life. Throughout her childhood years she was exposed to everything from Ray Charles, Otis Redding, and Wilson Pickett to Ike + Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, all of which helped shape her into the power-house soul and blues vocalist that has jaws dropping every time she picks up a mic. Mahalia and her band, The Soul Mates, have released three albums and consistently play to capacity crowds around the country.
