The CJRL League Tag teams were able to finish their season with a formal presentation dinner at the Cowra Bowling Club Sunday the 5th of December. The girls had weathered a tumultuous year of restrictions and ups and downs that came along with the pandemic, but they took it in their stride giving it their all in the final rounds to squeeze as much from their season as they could. While the presentation was delayed, it certainly didn’t show as the room quickly began to buzz with chatter and laughter while they enjoyed a sit down meal and caught up with their teammates and friends.
Coach William Ingram praised his under 13’s side for their efforts in his speech.
“I’m proud of what you have put in this year and I am really happy to be a part of it,” he said.
All three sides, including Under 11’s, 13’s and Open division, were presented with their jersey, while some very lucky players who had worked hard to shine through the season were awarded trophies. While most of them are eager to lace up the boots for next season and continue with their teammates it won’t be the case for all. The end of this year for some of the older girls has marked the end of their journey with Cowra Junior Rugby League as they move into Senior League and into an entirely new chapter of football in 2022.
