Council Hosts World Peace Bell Ceremony

Cowra Council, in conjunction with the Australia Chapter of the World Peace Bell Association, held a World Peace Beall Ceremony last Thursday.

The ceremony was held at the Australian Peace Bell at Cowra Civic Square to celebrate the UN International Day of Peace and the 30th Anniversary of the Australian World Peace Bell.

Activities included a Smoking Ceremony, the Cowra 2022 Peace Day Address and Peace Poetry Recitation, read by Allie Woods from the Cowra Youth Council.

She read Laura Bennett’s entry from the 2022 Peace Poetry Competition. A special presentation was held to recognise the volunteer efforts of longstanding members of the Australian Chapter of the World Peace Bell Association who have served for over 30 years.
