U15’s and U17’s hit the courts over the long weekend to take on various teams in the intrastate competition. The three day tournament aimed to showcase the strength of grass-roots netball and bring together teams from across the state.
The U15’s played 5 games and took a strong lead with a 13-7 win over Nelson Bay, a side they had lost to in 2019. Game 2 saw the girls fight it out against Hawkesbury City but ultimately lost by a tight 2 points. The girls were triumphant against Ballina and Great Lakes but lost to their new friends Kurri Kurri who proved to be the better team in the match.
U17’s came out of the gate strong against Armidale 12-8 follow-ing up with another win against Sapphire coast 13-9. Goulburn district, Leeton, Brunswick Byron were too strong against Cowra resulting in losses but the U17’s came back against group 14 win-ning 16-11 and Lithgow 17-15.
After a successful day on the courts the U15’s girls headed to Homebush to watch their idols play Giants v Lightening giving them the opportunity to pick up some new skills.
