A busy weekend at the Bowling Club with the Charity Day on Friday followed by the A Grade Pairs final on Saturday and C Grade Pairs final on Sunday The weekend started on Friday with 60 players taking part in our 1st Charity Bowls Day. Winners on the day was the team of Sonia Morgan, Greg Nicholls & Bob Morgan with 2 wins +34, 2nd place Tom Peadon, Robert Oliver & Steve Treasure 2 +23 (21 ends) & 3rd place Michael Baldwin, Dawn Dye & Michael Nobes 2 +23 (20 ends). At the end of the day an auc-tion of signed sporting goods and other items was held raising approx. $4,000 going towards the Charities Men of League & MND NSW. On Saturday the deferred A Grade Pairs Final was played between defending champions Bruce Oliver/Noel Hubber & Michael Baldwin/Neville Connor. Bruce & Noel shot out to a 19-3 lead after only 9 ends. Despite sharing the remain-ing ends Michael & Neville were unable to peg back the end conceding the match 30-15 after 19 ends. Sunday saw the 2nd final of 2021 the C Grade Pairs Final between Tom Peadon/John Pickard & Maurie Collins/Bill Hayes. Maurie & Bill established a 13-5 lead after 11 ends only to see Tom & John draw level after 16 ends 14 all. Winning 3 if the final 2 ends Tom & John claimed the final 20-16. Congratulations to both teams on their wins. Nominations are currently open for the B Grade Pairs closing Friday 2nd April with matched to commence Saturday 10th April. Good Friday will see an Open Pairs event played open to bowlers & non-bowlers; cost $10.00 per team. Entries taken up to 12:30pm by contacting the Bowls Office on 63413219 with matches to commence at 1:00pm
