With the colder weather well and truly on our doorstep, donations to the Cowra Pound have been at an all-time high. Support has been so strong that they are no longer taking blanket donations.
“Currently, we have an excessive amount of donations especially blankets,” said Director of Environmental Services, Larissa Hackett.
“While we are extremely grateful for any assistance and kindness, we currently can’t take anymore stock or supplies such as blankets – we are overwhelmed,” Larissa said.
“It is a good problem to have and we are thankful, however our immediate challenge is rehoming many of these animals,” Ms Hackett said.
“That would be the greatest gift of all!”
Recently, the pound has had an influx of cats and dogs arrive – many of which are microchipped, healthy and looking for forever homes.
“We would love nothing more than to house the pets here so, if you want to help, please contact Council’s Rangers and adopt a pet – we even have spare blankets!”
For more information on the animal shelter, pet education and how to adopt a pet contact the Council Ranger on 02 6340 2052 during business hours.
