Cowra was treated to an absolute spectacle last Sunday, with a concert headlined by Daryl Braithwaite the perfect compliment to an 8-race harness racing card.
Hundreds, if not a thousand people turned out to the big day, which also saw abnds The Whitlams, Darlinghurst and Cowra based Plus One take to the stage in between each race.
Pas Guarantee took out race 8, the Lachlan Valley Cup, which was the main race, winning $32,700 in prize money.
Plus One was the first band to entertain the crowd, playing a great brand of classic pub rock.
Darlinghurst, a Melbourne-based country music band, then played a mix of originals as well as some Shania Twai and Dolly Parton covers.
Daryl Braithwaite then rocked the stage, belting out classics such as “Horses”, “One Summer”, “Summer Love” and “Howzat”.
The Whitlams completed what was a great afternoon with their unique folk music taste.
