Crowds Blossom For 2024 Sakura Matsuri
Thousands of locals and tourists made the most of stunning conditions on Saturday to enjoy and action packed Sakura Matsuri at the Cowra Japanese Garden.
Withy sunny, 22-degree conditions, it proved to be a perfect day to enjoy the outdoors at the Garden, look at and smell the Cherry Blossom trees in bloom, and take in all the Japanese cultural experiences that were on display.
A full day program of events was held from 10am all the way to 4pm, with cultural displays including sumo wrestling, samura sword demonstrations and the always-popular Taiko drummers, among other displays, captivating the festival goers.
Food and shopping options were a plenty too, with around 20 stall holders supporting the festival, from delicious crepes Japanese cuisine, BBQ, icecream and coffee, to origami cards, dress ups and many others.
Sakura Matsuri is the biggest annual event at the Garden and one of the largest events in Cowra each year.
