The best kept secret in Cowra is the Lachlan River frontage.
Candidate Sharon D’Elboux proposes both Edgell and River Park be considered to hold riverfront events and tourism related activities.
“We have undersold the significance, natural beauty and functionality of this space. Our canine friends have the best location for a dog park in Australia”, said Ms D’Elboux.
Cowra Council has endorsed strategies and commenced work to improve acces-sibility along the river frontage.
Ms D’Elboux proposes residents of the Shire and interested organisations to be consulted on the possibility of the riverfront to accommodate events, tourism related activities and a movable outdoor dining precinct.
“Dubbo Regional Council has taken steps to utilise the Macquarie River as a new events precinct. The approved concept plans are amazing and a game changer for places to hold events in regional NSW”, said Ms D’Elboux.
The Dubbo design is adaptable, multifaceted, and has taken into consideration a one in 100 year flood event. The design allows functional community pedestrian usage, contained community event stag-ing of up to 300 people, and the flexibility to reverse the stage setting to face north, allowing an open, expansive stage touring event capacity of up to 10,000.
“This can be achieved in Cowra with funding from all levels of government” said Ms D’Elboux.
