Dreaming Big For RAFCA’S Art Prize
Calling all artist and creatives to participate in the Recycled Art for Cowra Award. The Recycled Art for Cowra Award (RAFCA) is an initiative of the Cowra Tidy Towns Committee.
RAFCA is about creating art from recycled materials. There is a different theme for the competition every year, with awards presented in a range of categories. This year’s theme is Dreaming: Stories and Legends and individual and group entries are encouraged. Groups such as Preschools, Primary Schools and High Schools are welcome to enter and to use recycled materials to create their artworks and sculptures. The RAFCA are also adding a new catergory this year, special needs. With entry fees from $2-$5, the competition is easily accessible for everyone to enter.
Entries will be accepted at the Nguluway Room on Thursday, 14th September between 12 and 5pm. If you need to deliver outside this time, please make prior arrangements with Philippa Childs at Council. Judging will be held on Friday, 15th September by a panel of 3 judges appointed by the Tidy Towns Committee. Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners will be notified by phone/email following judging, and recipients are requested to be at the Nguluway Room on Sunday, 17th September at 1pm to accept their awards.
