Motorbike owners in Cowra and surrounds are being called to register for the inaugural Kanzas Rose Bike Ride for Cystic Fibrosis, a charity ride being held in September, in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Community Care.

The event is a mystery ride that will travel for 400km across the Central West, starting at the Rusty Horse Hotel in Bribbarree in Hilltops Shire at 10am on Saturday the 9th September, and finishing back at the same venue several hours later.

Live entertainment, raffles and activities will then kick off at the nearby Bribbarree Showground at 6pm.

The event has been organised by Lisa Dowling from Bribbarree, whose daughter, Kanzas Rose, 3, who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis- a life threatening disorder that can damage the lungs and the digestive system.

Since her diagnosis, Kanzas has been admitted to Randwick Children’s Hospital approximately six times with frequent day visits and specialist appointments throughout the years. She is required to take multiple medications to ensure she maintains a baseline of health.

All proceeds from the day will go to Cystic Fibrosis Community Care - a non-for profit organisation that helps raise awareness for people living with CF. They provide support to families who cannot afford the medical expenses that are prominent with the treatment and raise and donate money for research and bettering the ongoing treatments.

The event has been formally registered through Cystic Fibrosis Community Care.

Janette Dixon, who is assisting Lisa to promote the event, said anyone with a motorbike can register to participate in the ride, and all were welcome to attend the festivities in the evening.

“We’re calling on everyone to come to Bribbaree tp support this event for a good cause,” she said.

“Anyone with their own motorbike can register to participate in the ride, and we’re looking for motorbike in and around Cowra to join in.”

Cars are also welcome to join the ride. The entry fee for the rise is $15 per person, which also includes entry to the Showground festivities.

Entry to the Showground for anyone not participating in the ride will be $15 per adult, with minors under 18 being free.

To register for the ride simply arrive at the Rusty Horse Hotel at 9am on the day and register prior to the ride departing. For more information about the event please contact Lisa Dowling on 0478 777 226 or email at lisamareew8S@gmail.com.
