Local artists with strong connections to Cowra and surrounding communities are invited to be part of the arts program for the $110.2 million Cowra Hospital Redevelopment with Expressions of Interest (EOI) now open.
The artworks will feature within the new hospital, providing a calming and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Creative Care: up to 20 artworks to support places of wait and rest; and
Cultural Safety: up to five art installations (internal and external) by an Aboriginal artist/s with a recognised relationship to Wiradjuri CountryWhen complete, the Cowra Hospital Redevelopment will feature a range of artworks which will give the facility a unique and distinctive identity.
Health Infrastructure Executive Director Rural and Regional, Amanda Bock, said the arts program for the new hospital offers an exciting opportunity for local artists to contribute to the new facility.
“With opportunities specifically for local Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal artists, this is a significant investment into arts and culture that aims to improve patient experience, while celebrating First Nations and local stories important to our communities.
“We know that integrating art into health facilities plays an important role in supporting healing and well-being, while inspiring and comforting those who will receive healthcare in the new Cowra Hospital,” Ms Bock said.
Artists are invited to an information session to be hosted at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery, at 10am on Wednesday 19 March 2025.
This is also an opportunity for artists to receive advice on how to prepare and complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) process. Registration is not necessary, artists are welcome to drop in, talk to the team and find out more about the upcoming opportunities.
