Remembrance Day In Cowra
The Remembrance Day Service conducted by Cowra RSL sub-Branch on Saturday 11th November was supported by many community and ex-service personnel.
After the parade was assembled, the siren was sounded at 11.00am to recall the events at the front when sirens sounded to announce the ceasefire and end of hostilities. Ms Lesley Marshall, president of the Cowra sub-Branch, welcomed guests and spoke about the involvement of Australian troops in areas of conflict during and since World War One.
Wreaths were laid by sub-Branch members in memory of those who served in these conflicts and by representatives of many local organisations and schools.
The RSL padre, Lieutenant Jodie McInness, recited a prayer, and the service was concluded with the singing of the Nation Anthem.
The Cowra RSL sub-Branch would like to thank all those who attended and participated in the ceremony.
