EXCITING DEVELOPMENT: Cowra Shire Council Mayor Ruth Fagan at Cowra Hospital buoyed by the news that Richard Crookes Construction will commence the build of the new state-of-the-art hospital for Cowra resi- dents sooner rather than later.

Richard Crookes Constructions Appointed Main Works Contractor for Cowra Hospital Redevelopment Cowra Shire Council is delighted to welcome the appointment Richard Crookes Constructions as the main contractor for the Cowra Hospital $110.2 million redevelopment.

NSW Health Infrastructure Executive Director Rural and Regional, Amanda Bock, announced the appointment to undertake the project following a competitive tender process Mayor Ruth Fagan, endorsed the appointment which is a major step closer to the Hospital becoming a reality.

The Cowra Hospital redevelopment is a collaborative effort between Health Infrastructure and the Western NSW Local Health District, with a shared vision to deliver a sustainable, modern, and purpose-built hospital that meets the healthcare needs of the Cowra community and the surrounding region. “Considerable progress has already been made on-site, including the recent demolition of existing unused buildings,” said Cr Fagan.

“Design finalisation activities are currently underway, and construction of the state-of-the-art facility is expected to commence soon,” Cr Fagan said.

“The Cowra Hospital redevelopment represents a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure and services for the region.”

On completion, the new Cowra Hospital will offer modern, cutting-edge medical facilities and enhanced services. The hospital is anticipated to be fully operational in 2025, marking a significant milestone for healthcare in the Cowra region.
