I am a local Police officer and part time farmer so I’m very aware of the issues that concern people at a local level. I have previously served as a Councillor on the former Wellington Council, so I know how local government works. A growing local economy that provides jobs and opportunity, along with quality infrastructure are my core beliefs.
Cowra needs to grow. We are now seeing people living in congested and ex-pensive cities genuinely considering relocating to a regional area. I want to see some of those people come to Cowra.
To attract these people, we need a housing strategy. We need to ensure Cowra has a good supply of residential land available now and into the future and that we plan development keeping our aesthetic country town qualities intact. The rural economy is so vitally important to Cowra. Farmers and producers need good roads that are safe and well maintained. I will be showing a keen interest in Council’s road network and its ongoing repair and maintenance.
The Low-Level bridge needs to be replaced. I will push the new Council to agree and commit to a plan and timeline for its replacement.
A strong Cowra Council needs to keep the pressure on the state Government and its promised redevelopment of the Cowra Hospital.
None of this comes easy but I am determined to get a result for you.
