Cowra Lions Support for Flood Victims

Cowra Lions recent BBQ at Bunnings was in aid of the NSW Flood victims. Lions President Graham Apthorpe said that the generosity of Cowra people and a decision by the club to supplement the funds raised on the day, will see $2,000 being provided directly to the Lions Foundation which will be directly assisting flood victims” Lion Graham said that Lions members from the top of the organisation to the bottom are all volunteers. There are no deductions for administration and 100% of every dollar raised goes to flood victims.

Bridge Lessons will continue on Tues-day 12th April so Sally will take names if you wish to attend.

There will be no bridge on Easter Monday or Anzac Day and the Wednesday night as the club prepares for renovations.

Joan Roots is taking names for next Wednesday and Jenni will take names for Monday.

Come on down to the Cowra Library for a fun crafty session where we will make and decorate paper easter egg wreaths and easter surprise cards. Ages 4+ 10 tickets maximum

Wednesday 20th April: LEGO
Challenge Work on your fine motor and problem-solving skills to create a self-supporting LEGO bridge that can span a distance between two points. Children will work in pairs or individually for this challenge. Ages 6-12 10 Tickets maximum

Friday 22nd April: STEM Studio Roundtable!
Get innovative at our STEM Studio!Join us at Cowra Library these holidays as we delve into the world of STEM! Using everyday household items, you will be able to discover the wonders of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Our roundtable will have multiple activi-ties: create a maze out of straws, gather a team and stack cups without touching them with your hands, and build a marshmallow shooter. Try one or try them all! Ages 5+ 20 Tickets maximum

Over $2000 Raised At Emma Butler Memorial Show

It has been confirmed that last month’s Emma Butler Memorial Show wrestling event in Cowra raised a whopping $2,739! A cheque was presented by organiser and competitor “High Octane”, James Lanham, to Emma Butler’s family last Saturday at the carnival of the Festival on International Understanding, where Mr Lanham was joined by other wrestlers to put on an exhibition show as part of the carnival. Congratulations James!
