Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has been promoted to the NSW Cabinet for the first time, with NSW Premier Dominic Perrotet announcing her as the Minister for Emergency Services.
Ms Cooke’s promotion came as part of a full cabinet reshuffle the State Government plans on taking to the next election in early 2023.
She was one of seven female ministers brought to the cabinet, joining Natasha Maclaren-Jones, Eleni Petinos, Wendy Tuckerman, Bronnie Taylor, Natalie Ward and Sarah Mitchell.
Ms Cooke has replaced former minister Melinda Pavey, who was demoted in favour of Ms Cooke.
Ms Cooke’s promotion comes just four years after first being elected to the NSW Parliament, after winning the by-election following Katrina Hodgkinson’s resignation in 2017.
